Support Worker

As part of our commitment to improving the life chances of all young people we are developing a new children's respite centre and residential home. 

These new facilities will provide an enhanced offer for children with disabilities in Waltham Forest.  

The current Leyton Green Road Respite Service provides a good service, as judged by Ofsted. We are proud of our service offer to children and young people, and we are excited to provide a new service in improved surroundings. 

Vacancies have arisen for permanent positions for full and part time position Support Workers at Leyton Green Road respite centre for children with disabilities.

The ideal candidates must have at least one years’ experience of working with children and young people with disabilities, be able to work directly with children and young people as part of a team to achieve the aims set for the service within the policy of the Local Authority.  The successful person will also be required to work up to 36 hours per week, including Saturdays and Sundays on shift work.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of and issues relating to children and young people with disabilities; ability to work under regular supervision and ability to work effectively under pressure, have effective communication both orally and written, ability to carry out key working responsibilities/duties

Post relates to payscale SC6

The successful applicant will also possess CWDC Diploma level 3 or equivalent or be working towards attaining one
