REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2019

TEA TIME CLUB PLAYWORKER, Scale 2 Pts 3-4

Barn Croft Primary is a very special place.  We are a one form entry school where everyone believes that every child can succeed regardless of their background.  We are committed to providing an excellent education for every one of our pupils who come from a wide variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

Our Values are:

COURAGE

LOVE

EXCELLENCE

We offer our parents after school care at our Tea Time Club every day from 3.30pm until 6pm.

We are looking for someone to join our Tea Time Club team. We are looking for someone who loves working with children from ages 4 to 11, someone who can show initiative, love & care and who believes that play is as important for children as their academic learning.

The interview will include observing your interactions with the children and the other staff at one of our after school sessions.  You will be joining a forward-thinking, professional and endlessly positive staff team who are supportive and challenging of each other in order to deliver the best for our wonderful pupils.  We have high expectations of pupils and staff but believe that strong relationships and “can-do” mind-sets are the keys to working successfully together. The behaviour of our children is very good and we support Tea Time Club staff to manage behaviour in the same way that all other staff manage it during the day.

If you are committed, reliable, hard-working and enthusiastic and dedicated to ensuring that our children have a positive and enjoyable time at their after-school provision, then Barn Croft is waiting to hear from you.  We welcome visit from anyone thinking of applying.  Please telephone the school office on 020 8521 1145 or email: school@barncroft.waltham.sch.uk.

Please complete the application form with attention to the Job Description and Person Specification.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expect staff to share this commitment.  A full enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

Equal Opportunities

Waltham Forest is a diverse borough where diversity is valued and is integral to both, service delivery and employment of its staff. The Council is proud of its rich mix of communities and as the largest employer in the area, it works hard to respond to the changing needs of its population. We use our statutory duties on race, gender and disability equality and best practice in respect of age, faith and sexual orientation to ensure equality of opportunity in the workplace. The Council is committed to meeting its 4 equality objectives: - Promoting equality of opportunity - Opposing all forms of discrimination, intolerance and disadvantage - Ensuring our workforce reflects the diverse communities of Waltham Forest at all levels. - Providing fair, appropriate, accessible and excellent Services to all. Respecting Diversity is a core Council value. To support the above and reduce the risk of bias in its recruitment activities, the council is operating an anonymous shortlisting process, which hides personal information that can identify individuals until their application has been considered for shortlisting. The council also operates a scheme whereby, for jobs graded up to and including scale SO2, internal candidates are considered first. This includes those candidates who self-identify as having a disability for the purposes of the Disability Confident scheme.
