Midday Assistant
You will be a member of a team supervising children during the lunch period. Willowfield is a happy, oversubscribed, financially secure and expanding school, with a very successful OFSTED inspection in June 2016. We are fortunate in having a fantastic new site (opened in September 2015) and the enhanced facilities are bringing to life even greater opportunities for our students.
We are proud to be a local community school that gives all of our students the best possible start in life and nurtures them as effective learners and happy, productive 21st Century citizens. Your role will involve ensuring the students make the most of these facilities in a safe and appropriate manner. (Hours of work will be 13.00hrs to 14.30hrs.)
Experience of working with secondary school age children is desirable; you must enjoy working with young people, have the ability to deal intelligently with situations which may arise during the lunch time sessions and be able to work as part of a team.
Willowfield is dedicated to the development of its employees and will support and train you for this role as necessary.
Willowfield is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The school will take up an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check on the successful applicant. Further details can be found at www.crb.org.uk.
Please note that parking at the school is extremely limited and allocated according to specific criteria. Willowfield is well served by bus, tube and rail services and staff are encouraged to use public transport.

Equal Opportunities
Waltham Forest is a diverse borough where diversity is valued and is integral to both, service delivery and employment of its staff. The Council is proud of its rich mix of communities and as the largest employer in the area, it works hard to respond to the changing needs of its population. We use our statutory duties on race, gender and disability equality and best practice in respect of age, faith and sexual orientation to ensure equality of opportunity in the workplace. The Council is committed to meeting its 4 equality objectives: - Promoting equality of opportunity - Opposing all forms of discrimination, intolerance and disadvantage - Ensuring our workforce reflects the diverse communities of Waltham Forest at all levels. - Providing fair, appropriate, accessible and excellent Services to all. Respecting Diversity is a core Council value. To support the above and reduce the risk of bias in its recruitment activities, the council is operating an anonymous shortlisting process, which hides personal information that can identify individuals until their application has been considered for shortlisting. The council also operates a scheme whereby, for jobs graded up to and including scale SO2, internal candidates are considered first. This includes those candidates who self-identify as having a disability for the purposes of the Disability Confident scheme. For more information, please refer to our recruitment and selection policy
