Waltham Forest Housing manages the housing stock of the London Borough of Waltham Forest delivering housing services to over 10,000 tenants and 1,800 leaseholders. 

 

The main function of the post:

 

To undertake a full range of debt recovery and management processes that enable residents and customers to efficiently and effectively reduce their level of arrears.

To adopt an approach that engages with customers through efficient but flexible working and promote the timely payment of rents, service charges, water rates, invoices and other monies

Key requirements for this role include:

 

Experience of actually carrying out and/or checking mathematical calculations

Experience of the housing management rent and service charges 

Experience of adhering to process and procedure

Experience of working to strict deadlines

Experience of using mainframe computer systems and databases (primarily Northgate Housing Management systems)

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally

Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise workload

Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team

Ability to deal calmly with angry/distressed tenants

Ability to ensure that services are delivered within an Equal Opportunities / Diversity framework.
