Caretaker Posts 

  • Salary Range: £22,377 - £24,030

  • Location – Walthamstow, London 

We are currently looking for caretakers to work as part of the Neighbourhood and Commercial Services Directorate. You will be required to carry out a range of internal and external cleaning duties as part of the services we deliver to Waltham Forest Homes. You will be required to work as part of a team and often as a lone worker delivering excellent cleaning services.  

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Ability to work under limited supervision and able  to provide written reports
  • Have good communication skills when dealing with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to read and understand schedules including, completing associated maintenance forms
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Have a full driving license
  • Must hold a BICS or equivalent qualification in cleaning
  • You would have experience at working within the cleaning industry and be able to use mechanical cleaning equipment
  • Be customer focused
  • Able to lift heavy items
  • Have some grounds maintenance experience

What we seek in you

  • A passion for and commitment to the aims and the work of the Council and an enthusiasm to build on recent developments the Council and service have made
  • At least one year’s experience in a role with relevant responsibilities at an appropriate level.
  • An ability to plan, prioritise and organise in order to meet competing deadlines.
  • Experience of providing using own initiative to complete work e.g Lone working
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to build up good relationships with customers, contractors and regular clients.
  • A flexible, adaptable approach is essential.
  • Full British/International Driving Licence an advantage
