Café Manager - Grade 6 £27,228 - £28,725 per annum

CORE HOURS: 36 hours per week Flexible will Inc. weekends and evenings

Waltham Forest Catering Service are opening a new café in a community leisure centre in Leyton and are now looking for a Cafe Manager to join us and build on the great work to date. In addition to organising daily operations, you will need to motivate staff to provide excellent customer service rewarding everyone that enters the space with a warm smile and hello.

In this role you will be the face of this new community café, therefore a key part of the criteria is that you love to engage with the public and are happy to be in a customer facing management role in addition to the work you’ll be doing behind the scenes.

We plan to focus on Locally sourced, high quality fresh ingredients offering customers access to wholesome nutritious food.

The successful candidate will be passionate about good food and current food trends.With strong leadership and organisational skills.  

We are keen to establish the Café as a place for customers to access high quality, locally sourced  food.

 You must be committed to providing a very high standard of service to our customers. You should also demonstrate

  • Experience of Coffee shop/food environment.
  • Ability to produce from fresh a high quality hot and cold food offer
  • Experience of producing Fresh cook food.
  • Ability to understand merchandising principles
  • A can do attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Be clean and tidy in your appearance
  • The ability and experience to lead and manage a team
  • Be physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy loads
  • Have excellent Customer Care skills
  • Good knowledge of Current food trends
  • Excellent food preparation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent numeric skills
  • Knowledge of financial systems
  • Excellent IT and social media skills.
