Lecturer (Fitness)

Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service

Part Time TUTOR –  Fitness and Well Being in Community Learning

(Ref: WFALS/FL/AW2 - to be added to application form)

Hourly rate £21.51 - £30.02

Pro rata salary £20,287.00 - £28,312.00 (including London Weighting)

We are seeking to appoint tutors to deliver learning programmes in and for the community from January 2019

Are you creative and flexible?

Can you inspire and motivate a diverse range of learners?

Can you contribute to the health and well-being agenda of residents in Waltham Forest?

Are you:

  • An adult learning tutor with a relevant teaching qualification e.g. CTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed, or
  • A subject specialist with or working towards a relevant Level 3 subject qualification
  • A qualified fitness instructor who is interested in teaching adults in the local community

If you have the expertise to support adults to develop skills to promote their own health and well-being, particularly working with local community groups to provide courses for their organisations in their organisations.

We welcome applications for fitness tutors from the following areas

General Keep Fit including chair based exercise.

  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Tai Chi
  • Relaxation Techniques
  • Mindfulness

Candidates must have a high level of expertise in their chosen field and an in-depth knowledge of the subject they wish to teach. Candidates will need to be flexible as delivery will be in various community venues in Waltham Forest and could be during the week, evenings or weekends.

Officially rated as “Good” following our OFSTED inspection in July 2016, join our team on our journey to “Outstanding”.
