We are looking for people to join the Culture and Heritage team with a range of skills and experience that add to and complement the existing team’s expertise. Our focus is to ensure that Waltham Forest continues to grow as a borough of culture where diversity flourishes. Supporting and empowering our local artists, creative sector and communities to deliver inclusive, relevant and high-quality cultural activities, we also work closely with our colleagues in economic growth to boost the reopening of our high streets, deliver longer term cultural infrastructure projects and connect people to jobs. We need to ensure we achieve all of this in a sustainable way by maximising our commercial opportunities and responding effectively to the climate emergency.
The culture and heritage team is responsible for delivery of high quality and inclusive services, including from the idyllic Vestry House Museum, the award winning William Morris Gallery and a range of ambitious arts and event activities. Working with and engaging our diverse local communities, regional and national partners you will lead, develop and deliver key campaigns across all channels to enhance the brand and profile of Waltham Forest Culture. You will also manage and advise on internal communication approaches to maximise the profile and visibility of Culture and Heritage Services within the economic growth directorate and with Council members and officers, and work with the corporate comms team to align with corporate priorities.
You will bring experience of planning and delivery of marketing and audience engagement plans, ideally in a cultural context, which have effectively and creatively engaged diverse audiences, locally, nationally and internationally. Experience and knowledge of the use of digital media and familiarity of different digital channels is essential. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to operate to tight deadlines in highly pressured environments.
