About You

We are looking for someone to join our dynamic team here at Waltham Forest as our expert GIS Officer. You will have responsibility for ensuring the GIS service across the council is up to date, sustainable and engaging. You will support users, run training events and lead user groups. You will act as our GIS champion, ensuring best practice, governance and data management are fit for purpose and stringently implemented. You will be responsible for all GIS related engagement with external suppliers, agencies and stakeholders.

No one day will be the same. You will flow between a diverse array of tasks across the spectrum of the council’s business areas. You will use your existing experience of GIS management to ensure excellent data integrity, a visible data catalogue and insightful spatial analysis that enables accurate and efficient decision making.

We’re looking for an individual who is driven to improve public service and has practical experience of delivering successful GIS, working closely with internal peers. You should have strong analytical skills, an ability to generate energy and excitement about change, the ability to work to tight deadlines and a strong drive for personal and professional development.
