0.5FTE ESOL Subject Coordinator (1 year fixed term)



Management Spine Scale 1 £33,745.00 - £36,478.00 pro-rata (Including London Weighting)

Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service is the local authority’s direct provider of adult and community education and work-based training.  Officially rated as “Good” following our OFSTED inspection in July 2016.

We are seeking a committed 0.5FTE ESOL Subject Coordinator


The successful applicant will undertake joint responsibility for the coordination and development of high quality and relevant ESOL programmes including contextualised vocational progression pathways. This is a large and successful department with over 800 learners a year taking an ESOL qualification. This role includes a 125 hour teaching commitment.


You will need the skills, knowledge and experience to:

  • monitor and ensure quality processes are in place in order to effectively assess and place learners and to meet the requirements of external awarding and funding bodies
  • ensure delivery of high quality teaching, learning and assessment, and drive quality improvement
  • ensure the effective monitoring, reporting and improvement of learner outcomes including progression to further study and employment
