As part of our commitment to improving the life chances of all young people we are developing a new children's home with a short stay and residential offer. 

These new facilities will provide an enhanced offer for children with disabilities in Waltham Forest.  

The current Leyton Green Road Respite Service provides a good service, as judged by Ofsted. We are proud of our service offer to children and young people, and we are excited to provide a new service in improved surroundings.  

The purpose of the role is to provide support and specialist knowledge to the service area of residential care for children with disabilities at Leyton green Road. The postholder will lead, and where required, take responsibility for day to day management of the service, to ensure that children are safe, well cared for and benefit from service they receive. Experience in working with children and young people is essential, and working with children with a disability desirable. 

This postholder be able to demonstrate ability to develop and operationally manage the service to ensure quality and value for money at all times; will ensure the service complies with relevant legislation, regulations and policies.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate at least 1 years experience in supervisory management.

The post holder will already possess a level 3 (working with children and young people), or diploma in social work, and be prepared to work towards level 5 Diploma in Management
