Vacancy Description

Teaching Assistants required for casual contracts

£11.50 per hour

Heathcote School is currently seeking to recruit Teaching Assistants to join a new team of casual staff.  We are specifically looking to enlist enthusiastic and talented TA’s to cover for absence or short term support within the school when the need arises.

We would like to hear from TA’s that are experienced to work within our school, or candidates that are seeking to gain experience within a TA role.  We are seeking to recruit appropriate casual staff who may want to return to employment having had a break, or who may only be available on certain days of the week.

Heathcote School is an 11 – 18 School that has a new Headteacher and a new vision.  The school is on a rapid journey of improvement ensuring the ‘good’ status (Ofsted 2014/2018) is retained and for the school to ultimately become ‘outstanding’ in all areas.  This is an exciting time to be at a school in an unparalleled setting with unlimited potential.  In a recent survey, 96% of staff stated that they enjoy working at this school.

The School Improvement Plan (2017 – 2020) focuses on four key areas:

  • Building at all levels an ambitious culture of high challenge and low threat enabling Heathcote to be the school of choice for staff and parents.
  • Ensuring the best possible learning and leadership of learning, across the school.
  • Ensuring safety is at the heart of everything we do and standards of behaviour and attendance are exemplary within the school and community.
  • Giving all pupils equal opportunities to make maximum progress.

The successful candidates will be those that understand the demands of pupils with a wide range of special needs, liaising with teachers to establish an appropriate learning environment for those pupils requiring support.  You will be working with and supported by an experienced team of teachers and leaders, Teaching Assistants and HI Communicators.

The school puts well-being and development at the heart of its work and we have very talented staff who are encouraged to grow, develop and work collaboratively, within school and with local schools, and to be the best they can be.  We are working to ensure school improvement in a high challenge, low threat way and enable robust systems and structures to ensure consistency in all areas, encouraging the growth and development of all.  The school has excellent resources and a stunning site close to the forest.

If you are interested, please look at our school website www.heathcoteschool.com where you will find application forms and further information.

Completed application forms should be emailed to recruitment@heathcote.waltham.sch.uk

Closing date for receipt of applications:  Monday 4th November 2019

Please note:  applications will be considered as they are received and we reserve the right to close this position before the date specified above.  We therefore urge candidates to submit an application as soon as possible.

Heathcote School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children.  The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure.
