This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed professional to lead our Community Learning Provision.
The successful applicant will take responsibility for the management and development of a high quality, relevant and accessible Community Learning offer. Our Community Learning programme provides adults of all ages with opportunities to improve their confidence, gain new knowledge, develop new skills and re-engage with learning. It includes courses, workshops and activities in a range of subjects including arts & crafts, digital inclusion, personal development and health & wellbeing. The area of responsibility also covers Family Learning and ESOL community projects.
You will need the skills, knowledge and experience to:
- develop a programme of activities that meets the needs of the local community and service priorities to engage residents from identified target groups
- lead, motivate and successfully manage and develop your team
- ensure the effective monitoring, reporting and improvement of learner outcomes including evidencing personal development, improved wellbeing and progression to further study, volunteering and employment
- promote the service at a local and strategic level engaging with funders and community & voluntary organisations and other stakeholders
Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service is the local authority’s direct provider of adult and community education and work-based training. Officially rated as “Good” following our OFSTED inspection in July 2016.
