Day release to study the AAT Accounting Qualification

We have an exciting opportunity for an AAT Apprentice to join our busy finance team located at Waltham Forest Town Hall.  This will involve providing support to the team as required in tasks such as budget preparation and monitoring, financial analysis and reconciliations, and supporting the final accounts closure process.

This varied and interesting position provides an excellent opportunity to gain work experience within the accountancy function of a local authority.  The position is initially for a 15-month fixed term contract, where you will work towards the AAT qualification.  Training is ongoing and comprehensive; you will receive full internal and external training in all aspects of the job role and attend sessions at college as required.  At the end of the contract, dependent on exam results and performance in the role, there will be an opportunity to progress and complete the AAT qualification.  For the right candidate this could be the starting point to a career in local authority finance, with the possibility of going on to become a fully qualified accountant.
