Integrated Commissioning
Creating a Sustainable Integrated Health and Care Support System
Named as the MJ Council of the Year 2019, and the first London Borough of Culture 2019, Waltham Forest is vibrant and distinctive; a fantastic place to live, work, explore and invest. With a growing cultural scene, more green space than any borough north of the Thames, and great transport connections to the city and beyond it is a vibrant and creative borough. Our ambition is to ensure all of our residents can enjoy a good quality life. We are working at pace to deliver our Redefining Waltham Forest 2020 vision and create a Council that is resident-focused, insight-led, digitally-driven and commercially-minded; a Council that can meet the needs of our existing and future residents. We are looking for the right people to make this a reality and with the Council’s strong track record of providing a variety of career pathways this is an exciting opportunity not to be missed.
We are looking to enhance our integrated commissioning team; a team that is visionary and innovative, has a flare for working collaboratively and most importantly is passionate about delivering improved outcomes for vulnerable people.
Waltham Forest Council and Waltham Forest CCG are currently seeking commissioning project managers to strengthen the integrated commissioning function across both organisations. These posts will be assigned to support key priorities within the team, including supporting specific commissioning and procurement exercises that are scheduled.
Based in Walthamstow, you will be part of an enthusiastic and motivated team and will play a key role in working closely with colleagues across the Council and the CCG, as well as external partners and members of the community. You will take a lead on a range of workstreams that are essential to effective delivery of the integrated commissioning priority work programmes that have been agreed for the borough, with a focus on securing customer focused, high quality, value for money services.
Previous experience of commissioning services in health or social care would be ideal. It is more important that you have experience of project and programme management in public services, are familiar with project and programme management methodologies, and are able to demonstrate impact in delivering sustainable and effective services at pace.
You will be educated to degree level and/or demonstrate relevant work experience and will possess relevant project or programme management qualifications, or equivalent experience which will be utilised in all aspects of delivery. If you are a committed team member, with drive, enthusiasm and a focus on delivery, we would like to hear from you. For an informal discussion please telephone Darren Newman, Assistant Director for Commissioning on 020 84968240
Equal Opportunities
Waltham Forest is a diverse borough where diversity is valued and is integral to both, service delivery and employment of its staff. The Council is proud of its rich mix of communities and as the largest employer in the area, it works hard to respond to the changing needs of its population. We use our statutory duties on race, gender and disability equality and best practice in respect of age, faith and sexual orientation to ensure equality of opportunity in the workplace. The Council is committed to meeting its 4 equality objectives: - Promoting equality of opportunity - Opposing all forms of discrimination, intolerance and disadvantage - Ensuring our workforce reflects the diverse communities of Waltham Forest at all levels. - Providing fair, appropriate, accessible and excellent Services to all. Respecting Diversity is a core Council value. To support the above and reduce the risk of bias in its recruitment activities, the council is operating an anonymous shortlisting process, which hides personal information that can identify individuals until their application has been considered for shortlisting. The council also operates a scheme whereby, for jobs graded up to and including scale SO2, internal candidates are considered first. This includes those candidates who self-identify as having a disability for the purposes of the Disability Confident scheme. For more information, please refer to our recruitment and selection policy
