Vacancy Description

A great opportunity exists for a Primary Mental Health post within Corporate Parenting Service LBWF. We have developed a Corporate Parenting Service based on a reflective group supervision model that we call Practice Support Groups. At the heart of our practices are relationships that make the difference, focused on creating better outcomes for our children and young people. We have transformed the way that we work with our children and young people. This includes clinical support as part of the practice support groups and foster carers support. We also offer one to one clinical support to our children looked after and young people as part of this process. This is an essential ingredient to understand and develop support plans for our children and young people.

You will be an experienced Primary Mental Health Worker with relevant qualification in mental health, trained and able to deliver evidence based interventions such as CBT, Brief Solution Focused Therapy or other systemic therapeutic approaches. You will have worked with children and young people in a statutory setting and have an understanding of the issues facing children in care and care leavers.

You will be able to deliver these effective interventions to support them with managing emotional, mental health and wellbeing issues. You will be able to offer guidance and support to practitioner as part of the practice support groups across services. You will have good communication skills and work as part of a team to deliver improved outcomes for children looked after and care leavers.
