Within this context, we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Corporate Anti-Fraud Team Manager to join our Internal Audit & Anti-Fraud Division
About the Role
You will provide an effective anti-fraud and irregularity investigation service to the Council and its partner organisations, ensuring that a strong anti-fraud culture is imbedded throughout the Authority. You will lead, develop and manage the Corporate Anti-Fraud Team to deliver quality value for money services to customers, and ensure that services comply with relevant legislation, regulations and best practice.
You will support the Head of Internal Audit & Anti-Fraud to deliver consistently quality services to clients and to enhance the Council’s internal control framework. On a day to day basis, you will work with senior management and operational staff to develop and maintain effective working relations. Your ability to effectively engage and influence in a constructive manner will therefore be essential, demonstrating the value of a modern and effective anti-fraud service.
Who will you be?
You will have substantial experience (minimum five years) of managing a team to deliver high quality customer focused services in the investigation of fraud, corruption and irregularities. You will have comprehensive knowledge of the operations of local government and social housing providers, the housing and national benefits regimes, and the types of fraud and irregularity that the council and its partners could encounter.
Your experience of undertaking and supervising investigations will be matched by a sound knowledge of professional anti-fraud standards and excellent communication skills. You will have the ability to present complex information to a wide range of stakeholders, including the preparation of high quality, clear and concise reports. You will have experience of dealing tactfully and responsibly with a range of people and organisations as you carry out a range of investigations covering the entire range of services offered by the Council and its partner organisations.
With professional competence and expertise, along with appropriate experience in delivering anti-fraud services, you will hold a relevant anti-fraud qualification, such as the Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist qualification; the Advanced Professional Certificate in Investigative Practice; or the CIPFA Certificate of Investigative Practice (other qualifications are acceptable – please see the person specification for details).
