About the Role: You’ll play a key role in leading our experienced SRP team, planning and delivering a highly personalised curriculum using autism-specific strategies and communication systems such as PECS and AAC. You’ll work closely with families, therapists, and support staff to ensure every child thrives—personally, socially, and academically. We are looking to appoint a passionate, resilient, and highly skilled Teacher to lead and develop our Special Resourced Provision (SRP).
In this role, you will be responsible for a dedicated cohort of pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)—primarily supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). You will design and deliver a highly personalised, inclusive curriculum that enables pupils to thrive within the specialist base while gradually supporting them to access mainstream classes where appropriate.
What We Offer:
- A stable, supportive staff team committed to collaborative working and high-quality teaching and learning
- Meaningful, relevant CPD tailored to your needs and career progression
- Staff peer working groups to trial and introduce new initiatives, focused on a balanced workload
- A highly inclusive school where children are valued, supportive of each other, and actively contribute to school life
- Strong focus on both wellbeing and academic achievement for every child
- An experienced and dedicated group of Teaching Assistants within the SRP
What we are looking for:
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience: Proven experience supporting children with complex special needs, especially those with ASD, and communication needs within a mainstream or special school setting
- Knowledge: Strong practical understanding of EHCPs, differentiated lesson planning, the EYFS Curriculum and sensory-friendly learning environments, Ideally within an EYFS or special school experience setting
- Disposition: Empathy, patience, a calm approach to behaviour-as-communication, and a firm belief that every child can achieve.
- Committed to inclusion and continuous professional development
