The Governors of Kelmscott School are seeking to appoint a Student Health Manager to join our support team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our students. Working closely with staff, families, and external agencies, you will provide direct care, health advice, and early intervention to promote the physical and emotional welfare of young people.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Provide first aid and immediate medical care to students on a daily basis
- Support students with ongoing medical conditions, including care plans and medication management
- Monitor and follow up on student health concerns, liaising with parents and carers
- To be responsible for the day to day management of the Medical Room and First Aid staff
- To co-ordinate immunisation programmes
- Support the school’s safeguarding and wellbeing strategy
- To be responsible for the promotion and treatment of student health
- To provide support to academic staff in pastoral care and counselling
- To maintain effective administration systems including accurate health records and ensure confidentiality in line with GDPR and safeguarding protocols
About you:
- Registered children’s nurse (RN Child/RSCN)
- Experience working with children or young people (ideally in an educational or paediatric setting)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Empathetic, calm, and able to work well under pressure
- Confident in managing a range of health needs and emergencies
