About the role:
We are seeking an Assistant Director, Public Protection and Resilience. In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the heart of managing key Public Protection and wider services as well as a wide portfolio of contingency planning work streams, delivering excellent services and ensuring we meet our statutory responsibilities.
You will provide strategic policy direction and leadership, operational management and financial control for the regulatory functions of Public Protection and Resilience within the Council including food safety, food standards, health & safety enforcement, premises licensing, trading standards, street trading and markets, emergency planning, business continuity, CCTV operations centre. You will play a key role in supporting the Cabinet, Chief Executive and Strategic Leadership Team to achieve the aims and desired outcomes of the Council.
