Exam Invigilators Wanted

At George Mitchell School we are looking to expand our team of Exam Invigilators.

 

What does the job require?

Previous experience is not essential, and training will be given but you must enjoy working with young people. You will be required to work as part of a team and deal sensitively and efficiently with issues that may arise in the exam room. These posts are subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS. check. 

You will be part of the team in the exam hall and ensure that regulations are followed reporting any incidents to the exam officer. There will also be a small amount of administration handing out the papers and preparing them for dispatch.

 

How much will I be paid?

£15.19 per hour 

 

How many hours will I be required?

The hours for this role are flexible. However, the standard hours are as follows:

During the Mock exam period the hours will generally be 8:30am-3:30pm (with an unpaid break in line with statutory requirements/organisational requirements). Some additional people may also be needed 11:00am-1:30pm (for example if you have childcare arrangements).

During the Public Exams there are two exam slots; morning exam (8:30am-11am) and an afternoon exam (12:30pm-3pm), There can be up to two exams a day.

You will submit any hours you complete via a pay claim sheet, and be paid for them accordingly on a monthly basis.

 

When will I be required?

Our mock exams this academic year run at the following times:

Year 10, Friday 10th January – Friday 17th January 2025 (Mock exams)

Year 11, Monday 24th February 2025 – Friday 7th March 2025 (Mock exams)

Year 11, Friday 9th May – Friday 23rd May 2025 (Public Exams)

Year 11, Monday June 2nd 2025 – Friday June 13th 2025 (Public Exams)

Year 10/11 Monday June 15th 2025 – Friday June 20th 2025 (Mock exams)
