We are seeking to appoint a hardworking, experienced and skilled colleague to join our pastoral team in the role of Pastoral Secretary. This is a non-teaching role in which the person appointed will be responsible for providing confidential and essential support to the Assistant Head Teacher – Head of Pastoral. 

 

The main responsibilities of the role are to ensure that the Pastoral Team are reliably, accurately and successfully supported in their roles, ensuring that the flow of information in relation to student’s behaviour, academic needs and achievements are being accurately recorded, reflected and advised to various agencies, including communication with parents. 

 

The Pastoral Secretary will additionally work with the Head of Year 10 and Vice Principal to coordinate the administrative process involved in the placement of students in relation to Work Experience. 

 

We are looking for applicants who have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, students, parents and service users and will use data to monitor the effectiveness of interventions put into place to support students.  

 

Highams Park is a very successful co-educational 11-18 Academy converter with 1550 students on roll. Results achieved at GCSE and A-level are good and the school was judged to be good in its May 2024 Ofsted inspection.
