The Commercial and Innovation team supports activity across Resources addressing strategic challenges through thinking innovatively about improving outcomes for residents and ensuring financial stability.
The newly established team works to ensure Waltham Forest maximises the benefits of insight, data analysis and business analysis. It works collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to inform strategic priorities and deliver service improvement.
This key role within the team is responsible for leading the business analysis function for Commercial Services. The role will work across a portfolio of programmes in Residents Services including providing support to the Waltham Forest Services client function.

As our Commercial Business Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in this dynamic shift. Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop innovative solutions for service improvement.
- Research best practices and assess their validity for the Council.
- Make convincing cases for change to senior stakeholders.
- Work with directors to identify new commercial opportunities.
- Develop strategies based on analysis of service context.
- Implement new processes that improve outcomes.
- Undertake/support consultation procedures and escalate complex problems.
- Ensure activities comply with relevant guidelines.
- Gather customer/stakeholder views to inform recommendations.
- Record data and measurements accurately.
- Contribute to service/business plans and planning/development activities.
- Ensure service/business plans reflect input.
- Quality check documents before delivery.
- Ensure all work meets required standards.
- Act in accordance with all policies and procedures.
- Lead on embedding business analysis in the Commercial Client function.
- Create and embed new standards of practice for change practitioners.
- Lead on service and system analysis using established methodologies.
- Present well-reasoned recommendations for change.
- Secure buy-in from senior stakeholders and partners for recommendations.
- Provide expert business analytics, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
- Design and deliver workshops with key stakeholders.
- Deliver business analytics input effectively.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to capture their views.
- Support project managers with service/system reviews, strategy development, and design.
- Capture and manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Capture lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement.
- Support development of client reports and present at shareholder meetings.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Educated to degree level or equivalent standard
Recognised business improvement qualification or equivalent experience
