About the role:

Waltham Forest's Communities & Participation service is responsible for driving delivery of the Council's priorities for working with the Voluntary and Community Sector. A key service within the Council's new Stronger Communities directorate, we seek to harness the strengths of our communities and drive innovative new models of community participation.

We are seeking to recruit a Programme Manager to lead the oversight and development of key strategic programmes within the Communities & Participation service. This will include the Council's partnership work with the VCS to respond to the ongoing cost of living crisis, tackle food insecurity and foster civic action including through volunteering.

Leading on operational service delivery and managing key projects, this is an opportunity to build on the success of existing programmes, strengthen stakeholder relationships and ensure that community interventions provide a legacy. The postholder will work with partners to drive innovative approaches to community participation which will be seen as 'best in class'.

In this key role you will manage a team of officers and lead, plan, develop and deliver an expert professional service, rooted in close partnership working with the VCS.
