Housing Insight & Service Improvement Manager

 

There has never been a more exciting time to join Waltham Forest Council.  We are looking for a Housing Insight & Service Improvement Manager to join our busy Housing Operations Division.

 

ABOUT THE JOB

To strategically manage, develop, organise, and coordinate the Housing Insight & Service
Improvement team. Ensuring the delivery of the service meets all Council, professional and
legislative requirements.
The Housing Insight & Service Improvement Manager role is about developing and
improving the service from the customer perspective, identifying how our customers think
and feel and work closely with the Housing Engagement team and wider housing service to inform insight driven improvements.

You will act as an ambassador for the Council demonstrating professionalism and setting an
example by displaying an active commitment to a culture that embraces excellent customer
service.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will have demonstratable experience in managing Housing Improvement projects, working to time, budget and quality in a large organisation.

It is important that you can demonstrate past knowledge of using customer insight to shape services and identify service improvements

You will be a good verbal and written communicator, as well as possess excellent IT skills  - with a detailed understanding of MS Office especially MS Excel essential.
Prior experience in presenting complex statistical data to a range of stakeholders in an accessible and actionable format would be advantageous to your application.

BENEFITS

  • Annual leave - Entitlement varies according to job grade and length of service. This ranges from 26 days to 31 days for most roles along with statutory bank holiday entitlement (pro rata for part time employees).

  • The Smallest Things campaign - Parents of babies born at or before 37 weeks are entitled to an extra week’s premature baby leave and premature baby pay (full pay). This applies for every week until their baby’s original due date.
  • Pension Scheme - The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is a valuable part of the pay and reward package for employees working in local government.
  • Death in service - 3x annual salary in the unfortunate event of death in service
  • Lift share scheme - A new online scheme launched to help council staff reduce the number of cars used to commute to work.
  • Tax free bike schemes - Our CyclePlus and Cycle2Work schemes can help you buy a bicycle, while spreading the cost and making significant tax and national insurance savings. Cycling to work increases health and fitness and is a clean, green and cost-effective means of travel.
  • Benefits scheme: Sodexo - Entitles employees to great discounts with major retailers, various attractions as well as cinemas, and restaurants. Based on Sodexo data the average saving are 8% per transaction. If an employee spends £500 on reloadable vouchers, they will save £40
  • Leisure centres - Employees can get up to 40% discounted membership at Better Leisure Centreswithin the borough.  Employees are also eligible for a discount at the Gym Group – The Mall, Walthamstow: no joining fee and reduced monthly membership.
  • Employee credit union - Forest Savers’ credit union offers easy ways to save via payroll deduction and offers borrowing facilities at lower interest rates than commercial banks.
  • Eye tests and glasses - Employees who regularly use display screen equipment at work are entitled to reasonable paid time off for an eye test and up to £20 towards the costs every year. We'll also pay up to £50 for lenses and frames  prescribed for you for working on screen, provided this is the sole purpose recorded in an optometrist’s report
  • Season ticket/ travel card loans - Interest free loans are available for annual season tickets and/or travel cards for travel to and from work.
