Head of Schools Business Support

Waltham Forest is looking to recruit a highly effective and motivated individual, with proven operational success in the school business management profession, to lead the Schools Business Support team.

With responsibilities for developing and delivering a high quality professional service for effective School Business Management and financial sustainability across maintained schools the Head of Schools Business support will play a crucial part in ensuring our maintained schools have financial resilience to enable them to deliver the best educational opportunities to our children and young people.  

The successful candidate will be expected to have: excellent financial skills, particularly in strategic budget planning and forecasting; significant experience of managing and training school support teams; strong knowledge of compliance issues for schools HR, facilities management, health and safety, and procurement; and a high competency and understanding of key school software and systems, such as SIMs FMS and ACCESS budgeting.

Maintaining strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders will be a crucial skill and the successful candidates will need to evidence the ability to engage, influence and motivate a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for our schools.
