About the roles
Waltham Forest Council are introducing a service review and improvement capability to provide intensive support in areas where there are acute challenges, emerging ideas, the need for new evidence on impact, and where future trends can be explored.
Working within the corporate Change Delivery Team, these 12-month fixed term Service Improvement roles will help us to scope, structure and deliver a number of reviews into key service areas across all the council’s directorates and departments.
The roles will help the council:
- understand the major challenges facing our services
- ensure we are focusing resources where we can make the greatest impact
- manage current and future demand
- harness technology and new ways of working
- develop new operating models for services and the council overall
They will function as part of a durable team, working with project managers, insight & design managers, service designers, and business intelligence analysts as well as colleagues from finance, communications, digital and HR as appropriate.
About you
We want individuals with the drive to improve public services, who can use specialist skills, knowledge and understanding of service improvement within a public sector context.
You will have the ability to work to tight deadlines, delivering outputs and focusing on outcomes in an extremely fast-paced environment. You will mix strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills together with the ability to generate excitement and enthusiasm about change.
Your interpersonal skills will be critical, as you work with colleagues from across your own and other directorates, providing leadership and challenge to managers, and building relationships with frontline staff.
