There are two Principal Finance Officer roles across Regen and Children and Young People. The roles provide a business focussed support service to specific directorate divisions, ensuring effective management of resources, proper accountability, control and compliance with corporate standards and statutory obligations. Key responsibilities will include;

  • Calculating, analysing and completing comparative statistics
  • Leading in the preparation of the annual estimates for a service area
  • Supporting the year-end closure of the accounts for a service area
  • Monitoring and reporting of financial performance against capital and revenue budgets and investigating variances for a service area.

To be suitable for the role you need to be studying toward an accounting qualification with proven experience reconciliations supporting budgetary control.

Going forward Waltham Forest will be operating a hybrid working model, with a greater balance between home based and office working, subject to role requirements.
