Waltham Forest is an ambitious Borough. Driven by culture and the innate creativity of our residents, we have developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council. We are creating more opportunities to empower our residents and boost their life chances.

We are a Council bursting with energy and opportunity. Our strong grasp of our finances means that we can invest - in our residents, our place and our people.

We need trailblazing leaders who can deliver fast-paced, people-centred design approaches to change. We will design for delivery with work that is insight led, co-created and digitally enabled, pushing collaborative working and igniting creativity.

We are transforming our Town Hall site into a civic campus for our residents, our communities and our future organisation. As Change and Engagement lead for the organisational change elements of the transformation programme, you will help us deliver our vision for how our staff, residents and communities will work together, both within the new campus and across all of our key sites.

This is an exciting time to join Waltham Forest – London’s first Borough of Culture and the winner of the MJ “Council of the year” award.  We are busy creating a Council for the future and this is your chance to join an ambitious, customer focussed Corporate Development directorate during a time of change and transformation.

About the role:

The Project Co-ordinator role will play an important role in providing effective support to projects and programmes within the Change Agency, working with colleagues to deliver expected outcomes and benefits to the Council and its residents. The role will also be responsible for managing smaller projects/sub-projects.

About you:

We’re looking for individuals who are driven to improve public services, and who have a real passion for delivering change at pace in a dynamic environment. Candidates should have significant practical experience of delivering successful, high-profile change initiatives working with senior leaders to make a demonstrable difference. But above all, it’s your excellent interpersonal skills that will help you stand out – we’re looking for someone with the ability to challenge how we work in Waltham Forest in order to make us the very best in class.

Equal Opportunities

Waltham Forest is a diverse borough where diversity is valued and is integral to both, service delivery and employment of its staff. The Council is proud of its rich mix of communities and as the largest employer in the area, it works hard to respond to the changing needs of its population. We use our statutory duties on race, gender and disability equality and best practice in respect of age, faith and sexual orientation to ensure equality of opportunity in the workplace. The Council is committed to meeting its 4 equality objectives: - Promoting equality of opportunity - Opposing all forms of discrimination, intolerance and disadvantage - Ensuring our workforce reflects the diverse communities of Waltham Forest at all levels. - Providing fair, appropriate, accessible and excellent Services to all. Respecting Diversity is a core Council value. To support the above and reduce the risk of bias in its recruitment activities, the council is operating an anonymous shortlisting process, which hides personal information that can identify individuals until their application has been considered for shortlisting. The council also operates a scheme whereby, for jobs graded up to and including scale SO2, internal candidates are considered first. This includes those candidates who self-identify as having a disability for the purposes of the Disability Confident scheme.
