Strategic Transport Project Manager - PO6
Waltham Forest is at the forefront of regeneration in London, with a range of opportunities for positive and sustainable change currently being delivered across the borough. Our target to deliver 27,000 new homes by 2030 will require strong planning for transport infrastructure, developing deliverable interventions that address existing capacity issues and help meet future demand.
Waltham Forest has a track record of securing investment to deliver infrastructure and regeneration projects, such as the reopening of Lea Bridge Station and the development of the Enjoy Waltham Forest network of walking, cycling and public realm improvements.
With major growth planned for the Leyton and Lea Bridge, Walthamstow and Blackhorse Lane regeneration areas as well as more widely across the borough’s town centres, the Council is looking to recruit a Strategic Transport Project Manager to work directly with the regeneration and planning teams to secure continued investment in transport improvements.
Who we are looking for
To take on this role, we are looking for a good team player who is able to develop the strategic case and secure investment for a comprehensive suite of sustainable transport interventions as well as negotiate the transport package for specific development proposals.
You will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working on transport funding bids, projects and negotiations, be it in the public or private sector. You will also need to demonstrate that you can collaborate and communicate with colleagues from across the organisation, including senior officers and elected members, as well as a range of stakeholders, particularly Transport for London, partners and the borough’s residents and businesses.
